Built and proposed a usage-based pricing model for a BI solution, backed by customer behavior analytics.

The Challenge

As we developed smarter BI reporting solutions replacing legacy excel based reporting which were offered part of the platform pricing, the investment made into the BI modernization does not justify and we wanted to understand if we can derive a pricing model for the new BI solution.

What I Did

Analyzed user sessions, dashboard engagement, and reporting exports. Created a value tiering model and recommended a pricing revamp that rewarded power users while onboarding light users affordably.

The Impact

Proposal a projected ROI of $3M in additional ARR over 3 years through better-aligned pricing and customer retention.

What I Learned

Great product strategy includes revenue strategy and it starts with knowing how your users behave and the value the product delivers to the users.
